Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

When 2 parts of Z^(2.5) are subtracted from 2 parts of Z^(1.5), the resulting parent fractal is a not very impressive thing resembling a Mandelbrot set rotated 180 degrees, so that its spike faces east and its East Valley is on its west side.  In addition to being backwards, the parent fractal has a main spike that splits halfway out into two branches, and an extra bud where the tip of East Valley would be expected to lie.  Today's scene lies on the outside of the northern half of the split-apart East Valley.

The image is divided about 50-50 between inside stuff and outside stuff.  The inside stuff is brownish; the outside stuff is aqua.  The 'outside' terraces were achieved by setting the outside to 'tdis'.  The 'inside' herringbone effect came about when I set the inside to 'fmod'.

When all this was finished, I had a rather interesting image that rates an honest 7.  I named the image "Coffee Plantation" when something about it reminded me of coffee beans.

Another day passed uneventfully here at Fractal Central on Tuesday, which was marked by lots of clouds, a little sun, a sprinkle of rain, and a temperature of 84F 29C.  The fractal cats enjoyed the day immensely.  They slept.
