Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: 

Today's fractal is another scene in the conventional math range of the Mandelbrot set.  Granted, its magnitude is at the extreme limit, but the tiny improvement that would be gained by rendering it with arbitrary precision math would not be worth the hour or so required to do so.

The location is on the east side of the north branch of Seahorse Valley.  The art rating of a 7 reflects the extra effort required to bring out the effect.  The name "Magic Carpet" came about when something in the image reminded me of an oriental carpet.

The image may be calculated in a few seconds or an hour or so, depending on whether conventional or arbitrary precision math is used.  The need to make such a tough decision may be avoided by visiting one of the web sites.

Today's weather was perfect for the festivals in the area, with brilliant sun, cottonpuff clouds, and a temperature of 81F 27C.  The fractal cat took it easy while the fractal humans were out at one of the local festivals.

The next FOTD will be posted when we have traveled a light day or two.  Until we get there, take care, and everyone knows that, due to the distances, it is impossible for space aliens from other solar systems to reach earth.  But why then do so many earth people, who know that space aliens cannot reach earth, keep reporting that they have seen the aliens?
