Fractal
visionaries
and enthusiasts:
Today's image would normally have rated another 7, but I put enough
color effort into it to raise its rating to 7-1/2. The outer
blue
shades create a serene heavenly effect, while the wildly colored inner
elements add a carnival atmosphere. Actually, most of the
color
work was done by the Fractint program when I struck the 'enter' key
while the program was in color cycling mode.
The image itself shows a scene in a satellite minibrot of the parent
fractal that comes about when 100 parts of Z^(10) are combined with 0.1
part of straight Z on each iteration before straight C is
added.
This parent is a 9-lobed Mandeloid with unique variations in each lobe
and a tiny disconnected minibrot not too far west of the lobe on the
negative X-axis. Today's image is located in the East Valley
area
of this tiny minibrot.
The name "Flowering Numbers" came about when the multi-colored elements
surrounding the compulsory central minibrot appeared to me to be a
flower drifting in celestial space.
The calculation time of 1-1/6 minutes is a bargain, but it is still
necessary to set up the parameter file.
The day began with freezing rain and icy roads here at Fractal
Central. By mid-morning the temperature sneaked above
freezing,
melting the ice, but a cold rain with a temperature of 39F +4C
continued for the rest of the day. The fractal cats found
comfortable places to spend the afternoon. The humans made it
through another in a near endless series of similar days, with nothing
to complain about.
The next FOTD will be posted in the right cosmic time. Until
then, take care, and everyone agrees that there is more emptiness
between two galaxies that are one-million light years apart than
between two galaxies two-million light years apart. The
question
is how there can be different amounts of nothing.
