quick dip

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Today's image is the third consecutive one based on the same theme, making it worth a point or so under what would otherwise be the case.  The scene is in the basin of a larger minibrot in the East Valley area of the large minibrot on the largest starfilament of the period-7 bud on the northeast shore line of the main bay of the Mandelbrot set.

The rating of a 6 is a bit conservative.  Had the image not been a triple repeat, I would have rated it at a 7.

The name "A Very Quick Dip"  mostly expresses the incredible speed of the image, which on my 2000mhz machine finishes in two seconds.

I have done all I intend on doing about the inability to post the FOTD's to the Fractint mailing list.  I have no time to play silly games such as I describe below.  The frustration is now becoming annoying.  If the problem persists beyond the end of the month, I will drop my Earthlink isp of 14 years and sign up with an isp that is not blacklisted by xmission.

I have already called the Earthlink technical support line and was connected to someone who could hardly speak English.  They seemed to have no idea what my problem is.  I then tried the chat line, where I was told that the person on the other end was sorry about the problem.  (Not as sorry as myself, for sure.)  They told me to call the technical support line back.  I then laughed (lol) and gave up.

When I called xmission, they directed me to their web page, where I found out what I already knew.  I clicked a button on the xmission web site that is supposed to remove the blacklisting, but I still could not post to the list.  It was at this point where I said 'to hell with it'.

Clouds and sprinkles of rain kept a small damper on things here at Fractal Central on Thursday.  The fractal cats did not worry about the less-than-ideal weather.  They spent most of the day watching two stray cats prowling in the back yard.  My day was busy, but I have seen worse.  The next FOTD will be posted in 24 hours.  Whether it makes it to the list is another question.
