Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Today's image shows an order-11 minibrot in the 'star' of a tiny period-26 radical on the northwest shore line of its parent Mandelbrot set.

I rated the image at an 8 because it shows what can be done with the higher order minibrots when they are inserted into the overall 2-way symmetry patterns of the Mandelbrot set.

By itself, the formula Z^11+C produces warped minibrots with surrounding patterns squeezed so close that they tend to all look the same.  But when mixed with Z^2 stuff, as was done in today's image, the order-11 minibrots develop surrounding patterns that expand until they are almost as large and varied as the patterns surrounding the Z^2 minibrots.

The name "Expansion" refers to this pattern xpansion.

The calculation time of 2-3/4 minutes is a little slow, but the FOTD wb sites are always ready to come to the rescue.

Some sun, some clouds, and a temperature of 45F +7C made the day a pleasant though uneventful one here at Fractal Central.  Light snow that was forecast failed to appear.  The two fractal cats approved of things, though they would have preferred more sun.

The local humans, FL and I, after a mild debate about liberal and conservative politics, had a routine uneventful day.  The next FOTD will be posted in 24 hours.  Until then, take care, and the end could be near, so learn to be satisfied with less.
