Fractal
visionaries
and enthusiasts:
Yesterday's garish image shows what happens when low-order minibrots
are decorated with brilliant colors. Today's subtly colored
image
shows what happens when the colors are kept to a minimum.
Instead
of the carnival-like atmosphere, we have a fractal that could be a
divine vision.
Being a marginally religious person, I named the image "Divine
Revelation". The brilliant light in the upper left of the
scene
may be identified as any divine thing or person the viewer
chooses. And skeptical Atheists could even consider this
light to
be just another feel-good delusion of the superstitious and gullible.
The generating expression is Z^(1.15)+C as iterated 15 levels up the
hyperladder with the 'recip' function applied. The odd value
of
the maxiter is actually one less than 2^(15), and was once the maxiter
limit of Fractint. This large value slows down the
calculation
but also increases the definition of the brilliant minibrot, which is
nearly hidden in the glare and can be more clearly seen by changing its
inside color to black.
The art rating of a 9 is again overblown, but at least in my opinion,
the image is worth the rating. The math rating of a 5 is more
honest. I have been doing these very low-order minibrot
images
for quite a few years, and today's image brings nothing new to the
world of fractal math.
The calculation time of 5-1/4 minutes is true on my fireball
machine. On a lesser or greater fireball, the time could be
much
slower or faster. As always, visiting the FOTD web sites will
end
all timing worries.
The clouds moved in just after sunrise today here at Fractal Central
and hung overhead for the rest of the day, while the temperature of 39F
+4C kept the outside conditions quite bearable. The forecast
is
not so pleasant however, since we expect up to several inches, or about
8cm, of snow tonight and tomorrow.
The fractal cats had a typical contented cat day. A little
more
sun would have made them happier however. The humans, never
fully
contented, once again made it through the day with nothing to bring
serious discontent.
The next FOTD will be posted when it is ready, but no sooner than the
evening of the 18th Eastern Standard Time. Until whenever,
take
care, and if the investigations of rational science stopped finding
things that cause people to question their religious beliefs, quite a
few people would be more content.
