July 10, 2012: Ultimate Railyard | July 9 | July 11 | 2011 | FOTD Home |
Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:
We're
still in the
same main-spike, East Valley, railyard-type, fractal area today, though
we have returned to the (-Z)^(2.0000001)+C generating
expression.
This time we have gone almost impossibly deep, to a depth of over
3*(10^13), where we stumble upon today's happy twin
minibrots.
The resolution breakdown has already begun. Only the lack of
smooth, sharp-contrast edges somewhat conceals it.
The image has a more convoluted network of railroad tracks than could
exist in any real rail yard, which inspired the name "Ultimate
Railyard".
The rating of an 8 seemed right when I granted it, though now a rating
of 7.5 appears more appropriate.
Today's color palette is once again a re-used one, but what the heck,
it's a good palette that brings out the underlying pattern, which could
so easily be lost.
The calculation time of 1-1/4 minutes will simply fly by, and in
addition, it may be enjoyed without passing through a security
check-point.
A near perfect day passed uneventfully here at Fractal Central today,
with kodachrome (now digital) blue skies, puffy white clouds, and a
temperature of 84F 29C. The fractal cats revelled in the
comfortable conditions -- they slept most of the day.
The humans made it through the day without incident, quite a task in a
situation where so much can go wrong. The next FOTD will be
posted whenever it is. Until whenever, take care, and to make
things perfectly clear about the Higgs boson excitement, a boson is a
particle that disobeys the exclusion law.
(I suppose all the outlaw bosons should be jailed, but they could be
difficult to round up.)
