Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: 

Today's image lies in the same area of the same split minibrot as yesterday's image.  But instead of Z^(2.003)+C, today's generating expression is (-Z)^(2.003)+C.  Both parent fractals are identical on the surface, but the inner details, especially along the negative X-axis, though similar, are decidedly different.

The color palette was created by the Fractint program with a single stroke of the <enter> key.  I did slightly tweak a few registers, but the colors are almost totally computer generated.

The name "A Negative Attitude" came about because in today's image it is negative (Z) that is iterated.  FL also gets a bit of credit for the name, since she thinks my attitude toward life is too negative.  (I consider my sometimes-negative attitude to be realistic in a sometimes-negative world.)

Today's rating of an 8 is once again above average.  IMO, the unusually rich field of colors makes the image worth its rating.

The calculation time of 2 minutes borders on slowness, but once the top of the frame is finished and the rich colors appear, the eagerness to see the entire image will outweigh any restlessness.

Heat and humidity returned to Fractal Central today, with a temperature of 91F 33C, humidity to match and the ever-present threat of thunder-storms.  The fractal cats spent the day keeping cool.  The humans, always cool, passed the day doing routine work.  The next FOTD will be posted within a reasonable time.  To discover what a reasonable time might be, check back here in about 24 hours.  Until whenever, take care, and I am in favor of positive thinking, but not when it is carried to the point of self-deception or denial.
