In the East Valley area of the large minibrot on the main spike of the Mandelbrot set, the double spirals face inward and the spikes point outward.  Today's image lies in this area, but the spikes are pointing inward, while the double spirals are facing outward.  Also, the number of elements is cut in half as the center is approached instead of doubling in the normal manner.  It is a perfect example of anti-bifurcation.  I named the image "Outside-In Again" because of this strange twist of math fate.

At a rating of a 6, the art aspect of the image isn't all that great, but the artistic lack is made up for by the math rating of a pretty good 8.

The calculation time of 2-3/4 minutes will pass fast enough.  Checking the web sites will make it pass even faster.

Near perfect weather prevailed here at Fractal Central today.  The sky was a clear blue, and decorated with cottonpuff clouds.  The only imperfection was the temperature, which at 92F 33F, was a bit too warm for comfort.  With FL back in Baltimore, MD for the day, I had New Fractal Central here in Sunbury, PA all to myself.  The fractal cat spent the day sleeping at the back of the entertainment shelf, appearing far more rational than some of the stuff coming over the TV.

The next FOTD will be posted when the time comes.  Until whenever, take care, and if those clamoring for an end to racial oppression would stop citing vague statistics and give a few examples of actual oppression in progress, identifying both the oppressors and the victims, maybe we really could do something about the racial situation.

BTW, when Obama was elected, it was supposed to signal change and improved racial relations in this country.  But when will it happen?  Oh well, I guess it's the fault of the ______________ (conservatives, liberals, whites, blacks, muslims, gays, illegal immigrants, terrorists, big corporations, bigfoots, mass media, aliens from Alpha Centauri, etc, etc, etc).
