Fractal visionaries:

In between exploring Mars and other tasks I did find one respectable fractal today.  I named it invminus because it's a picture of the Z^(-2) Mandeloid turned inside out.

When the fractal created by a positive power of Z is turned inside out, the result is an island of escaping points surrounded by an ocean of trapped points.  The fractal associated with a negative power of Z is already an island, so what happens when such a fractal is inverted?  As expected, the resulitng fractal appears as a lake of trapped points surrounded by a continent of escaping points -- the same as a positive exponent image.

In fact, the Z^(-2) fractal, when inverted, curiously resembles the classic Z^2 Mandelbrot set.  It is this image that I have captured in today's fractal.  There might be lots of interesting places to explore in this scene, but I have yet to look any deeper into it than the attached image.

The finished fractal is posted on a.b.p.f. and a.f.p.  Now I must get back to Mars.
