Fractal visionaries:

Today's fractal continues the exploration of the Mandelbrot YZ direction.  But for the rest of this week, I'm going to emphasize the artistic aspect in the pictures rather than the mathematical.

I named the fractal "Bridge" because of the bridge that cuts across the center, neatly slicing the image, which has origin symmetry, in half.  That bridge is actually the familiar East (or Elephant) Valley of the Mandelbrot set, seen from an angle that cannot even be imagined.

I just as easily might have named the picture "Zebra".  The stripes arose pretty much on their own.  I had a perfectly smooth palette worked out except for one final band, which I cycled around the image one step at a time just for amusement.  The effect was interesting enough so that I added a few more strategically located stripes.  The result -- today's fractal.

Tomorrow, I'll present an entirely new angle on an otherwise dull and boring part of the Mandelbrot set.  Today's completed image has been posted to a.b.p.f. and a.f.p., where it waits for those who can't reconstruct it from the parameter file.
