Fractal visionaries:

Today's fractal is a slow one -- almost two hours on a 100mhz machine, and it's also an old one, but it's worth the time if you'd like to see a misshapen midget in the act of exploding.  I don't know why he's exploding, but I guess if I looked like this little fellow, I'd be exploding too.

The midget is another of those hard-to-find ones that hide in the mandeloids with an exponent less than two.  I've included no formula because the par file runs under the manzpower formula in Fractint.

BTW, I've recently discovered a most interesting little fractal program at http://ey200.joh.cam.ac.uk/index.html. The program is quite unrefined, but it does what my obliquemand formula only tries to do.  It draws and rotates any slice of the four-dimensional julibrot figure at any angle whatsoever.  Some of the images are truly amazing.  The program as it stands is quite buggy, (only the lowest resolution mode will run on my machine), but it has much potential.  It would be great if one of the programming whizzes on this group would pick up the code and work it into something practical.

Well, that's it until tomorrow.  I've got Fractint 19.6 waiting to be installed on my machine.  It will take the rest of the evening to check out the new features in it.
