Fractal
visionaries
and enthusiasts:
Today's image takes us to a tiny minibrot far out on the main spike of
the Mandelbrot set, to the region of -1.9999.... As has been
the
case recently, the minibrot has been enlarged to millions of times its
normal size by calculating the scene with exp(C) instead of straight C.
The name "Broken Arches" does not refer to a foot problem. It
refers to the resolution breakdown in the upper part of the image, and
indicates that there is no tricky way to gain extra magnitude other
than with more math precision.
The rating of a 7 is what I think the image is worth. And it
is
certainly worth a trip to the FOTD web sites.
The day began with snow here at Fractal Central. The snow
fell at
a moderate rate all morning before slacking off and ending just after
noon. The 'official' FC measurement was 3-1/2 inches or
9mm. When the snow ended, the afternoon temperature rose to
37F
+3C, which melted about half the ice.
The fractal cats spent the morning watching the big sloppy flakes fall,
and the afternoon sleeping. I spent a half hour in the
afternoon
clearing slush from the walkway, while FL took charge of the hot
coffee. The next FOTD will be posted when I think it's ready.
Until whenever, take care, and if the same single thing is seen to
exist in two separate places at the same time, is it a demonstrated
fact of quantum physics or a bilocation miracle claimed by the church?
