Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: 

The parent fractal of today's image is the same one that gave us yesterday's image, though today, instead of checking the west end of the parent, which is its East Valley, we check the east end, where the main spike lies.  The chaos in this area is more chaotic than on the west side of the parent.  It is so bad in fact that it creates a muddy effect that holds the artistic worth down to an unexceptional 7.  The math worth drops to a 6, since today's math trick is the same as yesterday's.

The name "East Side Story" implies no tragic love story.  It simply points to the location of the image in its parent fractal.

The calculation time of 1-1/4 minutes will pass so quickly that it will hardly be noticed.  Satisfaction that is even faster may be found on the web sites.

The day began with rain here at Fractal Central, but the rain ended by noon, leading to a cloudy afternoon with a brisk north wind and a falling temperature, which had reached 48F +9C by post time.  The new fractal cat spent the afternoon at the doctor's office, getting her check-up and shots.  She passed with flying colors, except for an infection of ear mites, which we are treating.  The old fractal cat spent the afternoon enjoying the peaceful break from the new kitten.

The next FOTD will be posted in the near future.  The near future usually means tomorrow.  One can never be sure of these things however, so no promise is given.  Until whenever, take care, and according to science, the evidence of our senses is the most reliable form of verification.  Science also tells that our senses are sometimes subject to illusion.  But science does not tell how to reliably separate the real sensory input from the illusory.
