iterative bebop

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Today's image is named "Iterative Bebop".  The name came about when something in the image reminded me of the 'bebop' music that developed in the mid 20th century and promised so much more than it delivered.  In fact, only certain present-day 'music' delivers less.  IMO, the unabashed popularity of the current 'music' simply shows the lack of sensitivity of the current noise-addicted fans.

The parent fractal of today's image came about when I iterated the expression Z^(1.6)+C three levels up the hyperladder with no function applied.  This parent resembles a moth-eaten M-set rotated so that its main bud faces southeast.  A very prominent disconnected and distorted minibrot lies just north of the main bay of the parent.  Today's scene lies in what appears to the East Valley of this minibrot.

The minibrot at the center of today's image is of order 1.6, though it bears little resemblance to a typical 1.6 minibrot.  The highly fractured surrounding pattern is unusually brilliant, a result of the colors, which took nearly a half hour to get almost right.

The calculation time of 2-1/4 minutes is slightly slow.  The web sites can speed up things quite a bit.

The day began sunny here at Fractal Central, but by mid-afternoon the clouds moved in, with rain expected by night.  The temperature reached a comfortable 66F 19C.  Nicholas, the remaining fractal cat, spent a good part of the day playing in his cat cube complex.  Curiously, he still acts as though an invisible Cassie were in the house, playing with him.  I guess no one has told him that cats do not have spirits.

The humans spent the day doing human things, such as getting the work finished.  The next FOTD will be posted when it is ready.  Until whenever, take care, and who knows.  Maybe cats do have souls and maybe Nicholas has gotten over his loss so quickly because Cassie is still here, at least to him.  (I must ponder the implications of his behavior.)
