Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: 

We're preparing for a big storm here at Fractal Central, so I have little time for a detailed discussion.

The parent fractal of today's image came about when I subtracted Z^10 from Z^11 and added straight C on each iteration.  This parent is a lopsided, 9-1/2 lobed thing with most of the interest along the eastern edge of the large central bay.  Today's scene is located in a kind of debris ring surrounding the northern bud attached to the 1-1/2 lobed bay on the east side.

The terraced effect was achieved by rendering the scene with the outside set to 'tdis'.

The deep-blue coloring adds a rather somber effect, contributing little to the overall worth of the image.

The calculation time of 25 seconds is no joke.  The image really does finish that fast.

Clouds, occasional rain, and increasing wind prevailed here at Fractal Central today, as the 'frankenstorm' approached.  The temperature of 54F 12C was within reason.  Fractal cat Nicholas had a restless day, apparently picking up the extra activity of the humans.  The next FOTD will be posted before too much time has passed -- I hope!  If the worst happens, it might not appear for quite a while.  Until whenever, take care, and the gods are angry.  Let's heed their message.
