Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: 

Today's image takes us back to the DivideBrot5 formula, which I feel is still the best of the series.  The parent fractal is an oversized quadratic Mandelbrot set caught in the act of starting to morph into the cubic M-set.  Today's image lies rather deep in a small valley on the X-axis at the negative extremity of the M-set proper.

The minibrot at the center is a pure cubic one.  The number of elements surrounding it is confused however.  I see a series of rings of 6 elements, and 6 is definitely not in the usual cubic series of 3,9,27...  The cause of the discrepancy is that the quadratic influence is still very strong in the image, and 2x3=6.

The name "Spirit and Matter" was inspired by the overlapping triangles framing the minibrot.  This symbol represents the three aspects of the Supreme Spirit (Father, Son, Holy Ghost) descending to merge with the three upward-striving aspects of man incarnate (body, emotion, mind).

The art aspect is quite good, and rates an 8.  The math aspect is a bit shopworn but still rates a 7.

The calculation time of 3-1/4 minutes is borderline slow.  The web sites can speed up things considerably.

The fractal people woke up to 7 inches 18cm of fresh snow covering the fractal grounds, and found the fractal cats already checking the footprints left by the local feral cats in the snow in the back yard.  It's too bad that the fractal gentleman had to spoil his day by clearing the sidewalk, but the fractal lady kept him warm with lots of freshly brewed hot coffee.
