Fractal visionaries:
Here's a shy little now-you-see-it-now-you-don't mandelbrot
midget. The colors must be just right for it to be picked out
behind all the foreground clutter. It is clearly visible in
the attached picture, but change the palette a bit and notice how easy
it is to lose sight of this elusive little fellow. The
fractal is
an oblique slice of the figure that results from mixing portions of the
Z^2 and Z^-1 mandeloids.
The formula is one of my favorites. Unlike the formula I
posted yesterday, which is still being developed, I have this one under
enough control so that I have a general idea of what it will do. Mixing
various portions of the classic Mandelbrot set with various portions of
mandeloids of other orders as it does, it holds no end of surprises.
