Fractal visionaries:
I built the orchid fractal this afternoon and tried my hand at
recoloring it. I soon gave up. Colored as it is,
it's one of the most exquisite fractals I've yet seen. It's
hard
to top the present coloring scheme, so my idea was to change only the
background -- to a deep blue, (R-00, G-00, B-20). This gives
me the impression that the orchid is floating in infinite space.
Today's fractal is built from the same formula as
yesterday's. I've included the formula again today because
I've
made a slight change in it, which enables it to run slightly faster.
You'd think that the Mandelbrot midgets would be totally hackneyed by
this time, but here's one that's different. It looks to me
like a
skewered turkey, so I named it "skewered".
Believe it or not, the image is a result of subtracting the Z^4
mandeloid from the Z^2. As is the case with nearly all my
fractals, I've not yet explored any deeper than the attached image, but
I'll bet there's plenty of goodies hiding down in there waiting to be
discovered.
As for the request to send formula and parameter files as separate
attachments, I fail to see how that would simplify the
process.
In my case I'd need to make two separate postings
for each fractal, because my software permits only one attachment per
E-mail letter.
