Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:  

Today's FOTD fractal was created by the expression Z^(1.15)+C as calculated 2 levels up the complex logarithmic hyperspiral by the BranchCutGenHJ2 formula.

This minor diversion lies in a parent fractal that at first glance appears totally hopeless, particularly if the goal is to find low order minibrots.  This parent is little more than a northwest-southeast-elongated torpedo-shaped open area, with only one minor bud, a period-3 bud on the eastsoutheast shore line.  The northwest edge features a sharp cutoff.  Most of the remaining shore line except for the area around the bud consists of total chaos, which usually does not hold minibrots.  Today's image lies in the chaos at the northern end of the sharp northwest cutoff.

I named the image "Ouch!".  The sharp shaft intruding from the northwest edge of the image and apparently stabbing the little minibrot in the southeast corner almost brought a cry of 'ouch' from me.

The art and math both rate a 6.  I could find nothing anywhere that is worth more.  The calculation time of 6-1/2 minutes is actually more than I consider the image to be worth.  Thank goodness for the FOTD web sites.

A steady, light but unpleasant rain fell all day here at Fractal Central, while the temperature of 41F +5C added its chill to the overall unpleasantness.  The fractal cats checked the outside conditions frequently, from the warmth of their window shelf, of course.  The humans, who may or may not be of a fractal nature, had a typical day.
